North Sonar High Modulus Carbon Foil Mast.

Impossibly thin. Impressively fast. North has reduced the thickness of the submerged portion of their new High Modulus Prepreg Carbon masts by over 15% compared to their standard Carbon masts, while also increasing both bending and torsional stiffness.

The HM80 Favours disciplines without wind power - prone surf, pump and downwind. The shorter chord length over the entire mast length reduces drag and increases maneuverability. This delivers more glide, more efficient pumping, and quicker turns.

The HM85 covers all disciplines, with a focus on wing-foiling. Wind-powered disciplines require edging against the wind to create forward drive. Some of this drive comes from the front wing, and some comes from the mast. To efficiently provide this drive, the chord length in the submerged part of the mast is slightly longer. It increases near the top of the mast to maximize stiffness with no drag penalty, as this part of the mast is clear of the water once on foil. A more efficient underwater body shape means less drag and, hence, high and easier-to-reach top-end speed. Ventilation on the mast is now a thing of the past. North paid particular attention to this detail, so no matter the sea state, ventilation on the mast's TE is significantly reduced.

The HM105 has been optimized for racing. The thickness of the submerged part of the mast is a further 1mm thinner than the HM80 and HM85, to provide maximum top-end speed. As a result, this mast is not for jumping. Like the HM85, the chord length in the submerged region has been tailored to provide good upwind drive, while the chord length increases above the waterline to maximize stiffness. A more efficient underwater body shape means less drag and, hence, high and easier-to-reach top-end speed.

The kite has been tuned so precisely that the percentage of flex material in the tip struts decreases as the size increases. When the kite is depowered, and you have the bar pushed away, the kite still handles and steers, allowing you to ride the wave without losing any control. With multiple settings on the tips, you can also tune the kite to the day's conditions; having a flatwater strapless freestyle session, set it for maximum pop and powerful loops if you dare. The 2024 model brings another step forward with the introduction of a long carbon front handle allowing one-handed riding, an angled strut, which increases the riding comfort and with tweaks on the outline, twist and canopy tension further improving the Units power delivery and drift stability.

Designer Ken Winner optimized the angles of the strut in the handle area, resulting in a more natural riding position with the back arm being straighter and not constantly pulled in, which is especially noticeable when riding toe side.

The second great improvement to the handling is the introduction of a significantly longer carbon front handle, allowing the rider to bring the front hand further back and fly the wing one-handed for minutes. Smik Wind Wing V4.

Smik managed to further surpass handling, control and speed with a combination of materials which helps the SMIK wing maintain its performance traits further into its lifespan. Canopy With the use of the heavier grade (81grm-m2) Challenge code tec 95P fabric, not only does it’s its shape held better whilst overpowered, it also has a super responsive crisp feeling. The life span of this material is also FAR superior. With extensive testing over a West Australian summer the wing utilising this material although weathered, held its original shape from when it was first pulled out of the bag. The coloured leading edge fabric is the traditional weight (54grm-m2) which allows the wing to breathe a little better in pumping up onto the foil and not feeling too rigid.

The Carve is a powerful, reactive and controllable kite, ideal for carving up a wave face, tucking into a barrel or boosting strapless tricks. Engineered with a stable, lower aspect ratio design for fast pivot turns and excellent drift, the Carve has an extremely direct feel in both bar pressure and steering initiation.

For 2023, North put the Carve back into its wave riding category. Refined bridling for a longer, more progressive travel means the kite feels smoother and more responsive throughout the full depower range. It is still reactive when you sheet out – to the very end. Improved overall balance also enhances drift, so when you're surfing, it glides down the line, waiting for your bar input. The Carve has a slightly reduced leading-edge diameter and thinned-out profiles. 2024 North Nova Wing.

The 2024 Nova has had a substantial redesign form the previous version. The focus is on Freeride with a balanced, easy-to-use all-round wing with a wide wind range, low end power, high-end stability, and light, intuitive handling. For 2024, North introduced Carbon UDi Technology into the wingtips, stiffening the airframe and enabling it to snap back into shape faster after tricks and manoeuvres. They have also changed the draft position and depth, giving it better forward drive and projection, making the wing even more balanced and user-friendly. The new radial load diffuser ensures more even tensioning and a tighter canopy for enhanced performance. Introducing the Vyper Designed by Adam Bennetts & Clifford Coetzer in search of the ultimate all-around surf foil, the Vyper was born. A cross between the Vortex and the Hyper. HPS Wings

The High Performance Speed (HPS) wings are FAST. Designed for the ultimate in performance, but yet still usable by most levels of riders. Since the HPS wings use their own foil section with less camper and narrower chord, we developed a special fuselage that will accommodate all the HPS and future performance front wings.

The HPS wings are the ideal performance wings for WINGING and DOWNWIND. High level riders they also SUP, PRONE, WAKE and WINDSURF foil the bigger sizes, while the smaller sizes are perfect for TOW, freestyle WINGING and KITE foiling.

Pump and Glide Wings

The AXIS PNG wings are designed to be easy and early to lift for their size.

Unifoil Progression foil tail wing.

The Progression tails are tuned to a neutral foot pressure. They have evolved out of the Shiv tail, the most popular of the 3 packs we’ve sold. The Progression tail is fairly thin giving it some extra speed and pumping efficiency over the Shiv. Unifoil also pulled the tips in a bit more for sharper angles in turns.

This design sees the mast position advanced 60mm closer to the front foil, opening up entirely new options for surf performance.
Our Current Black fuselage range is perfectly suited to the majority of riders across all disciplines, these new Black Advance+ fuselage are not intended to replace them but provide options for performance and a more connected feel when pushing the limits.

A consideration when moving the mast position on the fuselage forward is that the effective length of the rear fuselage back to the rear stabilising foil is increased by the distance the mast moves forward. For this reason we are introducing a new fuselage size the  ‘Sillyshort’.

When choosing your Advance Black Fuselage, it’s advisable to take this into consideration and perhaps opt for a length shorter than you are used to using. If you’re currently using an Ultrashort, you might consider the Crazyshort instead.

Compared to our current Black fuselage range, these 3 new little siblings provide a looser, smoother transition from side-to-side. The sensation our testers liken it to is similar to the sensation of moving fins forward in the tracks on a surfboard, initiating turns becomes easier, which is great in the surf. There is a small trade-off, this ease of turning comes as at the expense of some tracking stability. (So expect to have a very small effect on upwind ability when winging and a need to adjust pumping technique slightly).

Code Foil Fuselage.

When designing this fuselage Code's main goals were strength, stiffness and absolutely zero movement in the joins. ​ They also wanted the setup to be adaptable so they have made the fuse in 3 different lengths and provided the option to change tail wings simply and quickly to find the perfect setup for each rider.

Dakine Renegade harness for Kitesurfing and windsurfing.

The Dakine Renegade Travel Light Kite harness is especially light and yet robust. The special feature of the outer shell of the Renegade is that it also is a very stable very mobile. It is not hard board or inexorably stiff, because by the held flat foam on the inside, the tray adjusts to the body. This relieves the back when pressure is built up when riding.

Duotone Lizard kiteboard training beginner kite

The Duotone trainer kites are available in two different sizes. The Lizard 1.8 and the Lizard 2.5, they both offer a safe and enjoyable way for newcomers to learn the basics of kite flying, before they progress onto their first lesson on the water. Durability is paramount when you are learning to fly a kite, both the Lizards are Ram Air Construction and we have employed new internal construction supports to make the kites fun.
