2022 Starboard Carve 139 Foil Ready

This brings four new sizes and shapes to our iconic Carve line up, delivering full freeride performance over all conditions. 99 and 109 are our new low volume shapes, with 159 and 169 our latest additions for lighter winds. The Carves are fast, but stay in total control, jibe beautifully, plane easily and just remain planing. Inspired by our test-winning Ignite freestyle board, we added extra volume to the tail, while featuring an extra-long flat bottom shape that helps to increase the ease of planing. It is super exciting to experience how confidently these new boards ride!

Fanatic Stingray LTD Windsurfing Foilboard.

The new Stingray LTD is available in 2 compact sizes with 115 and 130 liters and for the first time it closes the gap between Wind Foiling and Wing Foiling. Use a wing in lower wind ranges and switch to a regular windsurf rig when the wind picks up or vice versae depending on your preferences? No problem, the Stingray is up for everything!

Compared to the Stingray HRS the shape is even more compact and gets out of the water early and almost effortless. Due to its foil-optimized outline it delivers a great freeride performance in both disciplines. A deck pad covers the entire stance area providing a safe stand especially for beginners. Thanks to the versatile mounting options the foil-dedicated Stingray LTD is very adaptable to various types of foils, sail sizes or rider skills. Getting into the world of foil surfing has hardly ever been so easy and comfortable.

2022 Fanatic Blast HRS. This board will be shipped directly from the supplier. The Blast is Fanatic's performance freeride board. It offers blistering acceleration, but also a stable platform to drive from, giving you tons of speed and control over chop. Push as gentle or as hard as you want in the corners, the Blast responds immediately keeping the speed right through the gybe, with ease. For 2022, they have further refined the shape details. The new individual cut-out design in the tail section improves speed and acceleration for a smoother ride in choppy conditions. A new slightly longer and wider outline of the sizes 117 & 132 ensures early planing and fast consistent gybes. The smaller pulled in tail and nose results in better acceleration and top speed. Due to the thin rails, the Blast HRS can be gybed aggressively in experienced hands but also very easily for intermediate riders due to the wide tail. The narrower width (compared to equivalent freeride boards) supplies an increased level of efficiency. The Blast HRS is built in our budget-friendly High Resistance construction for everyday use and is available in four sizes: 100, 117, 132, 147l. All sizes are approved for foil use, which makes it the perfect crossover freeride board for Windsurfing and Wind Foiling.

Together with the three brand-new Hyper Cam 2.0, a tremendously wide range of use is the result: Adjusting the S_Pace trim for low- or high end conditions fundamentally changes the sail, which makes it possible to achieve maximum performance across all wind conditions!

The new S_Pace featuring the 3 in 1 design is the perfect symbiosis of our most successful race slalom and freeride sails: whether V-Max, maximum acceleration or used as a sporty foil engine, the S_Pace is the most versatile cam sail on the market. With this sail designer Kai Hopf combines the top performance of the Warp with a very balanced sailing behaviour and a much wider range of use. This is achieved through a greatly reduced and almost straight luff curve in the upper area. This causes changes in the luffing tension to have a very large effect on the leech. Low downhaul tension results in a very tight leech, high tension leads to a very pronounced loose leech.

The two extremely far apart positioned Min and Max trim points are proof of testament that the 3 in 1 design covers an incredibly wide wind range. On top the S_Pace shows a completely different high- or low end performance and sail character depending on the trim. On Min setting with tight leech, it’s supper effective to pump, accelerates very efficiently and feels incredibly light - ideal also for foiling. On Max trim, however, the S_Pace feels very similar to the Warp, constantly getting faster without limits.

Three new, length-adjustable Hyper Cams 2.0 ensure unique draft- and profile stability yet smooth rotation. Particularly noticeable is the highly tapered luff sleeve in the Aero Sleeve Design 2.0. Its width in the aerodynamically important boom area enables the optimal transition from the “thick” mast leading edge to the “thin” sail body. However, at the top of the sail the luff sleeve has remained relatively narrow to enable fast water starts. This is supported by the Luff Lift Design of the Warp 20.20, which provides additional lift. The perfectly balanced sail is the personal favourite of PWA Wave double world champion Victor Fernandez and is a real World Cup asset that is designed specifically for wave usage. Thanks to the absolutely neutral and perfectly balanced handling, its calm handling characteristics are unrivalled and it remains stable and highly controlled in every situation. The SUPER HERO feels like a three-batten design combined with the stability of a five-batten one. The specially developed profile blows out very efficiently and produces high propulsion even when underpowered, which is why it’s suitable for almost all riders, regardless of weight. The SUPER HERO’s consistent evolution makes it an even better World Cup sail with an extremely wide range of use in the wave. It continues to give a top-end performance even under the brutal conditions of locations such as the Canary Islands or South Africa, remaining under perfect control with high winds and during extremely overpowered jumps. The legendary, extremely crisp and responsive wave sail with the most direct power on/off switch presents itself after this year's weight diet even lighter, better and with an incredibly wide range of use. It works with either single- or multi-fin wave boards and even in freewave jumping conditions.

With 4 battens (except size 6.2) and the identical material construction of the SUPER_HERO, the new SUPER_STAR is ready for ambitious wave riders. However, its forward draft position guarantees a very strong performance spectrum and extremely wide range of use from classic wave riding to freewave bump & jump.

The SUPER_STAR easily manages the balancing act from a perfect day with classic down the line conditions to sessions in gusty, sometimes underpowered onshore conditions. Especially the smaller sizes (4.2 and smaller) have been extensively optimized in favour of maximum control during jumping and riding down the line. The excellent performance is mainly determined by the more forward and slightly higher draft position. This gives the SUPER_STAR its individualised character, whose ride and handling characteristics immediately feel familiar. You don't need any time to get used to it in order to get going right away.

The sail feels consistently light and balanced in your hands but reacts very directly and spontaneously - also regarding power on/off. Riders who prefer tri fin boards, who like to do radical cutbacks in minimal space and who also like to steer the board with their back foot will love the new SUPER_STAR! It can be laid down playfully in the bottom turn and the propulsion set to "off", thrills with hardly noticeable batten rotation and generates enough propulsion to keep the speed high even in onshore winds to attack the next wave. Since the sail generates more lift in the upper area, the board gets lifted improving the low-end power. All this works even better and easier now that the new SUPER_STAR has been put on a diet and slimming makeover with the LIGHT DONE RIGHT CONSTRUCTION.

This is achieved through an optimized panel layout, reinforcement patches featuring a high-strength high-modulus "Made in Germany" fibre and a new mast sleeve design, which, depending on the sail size, results in a 200 to 300 g lower weight! Unlike other brands, the film thickness of the centre panel has not been reduced, so the well-known durability of the SUPER_STAR does not suffer in any way! On the contrary: Except for the window, the entire sail is now made from X-Ply, which minimizes possible damage after a wash and at the same time gives the sail a slightly more elastic behaviour. Performance, dynamics and ride feel benefit from the new luff length and the modified mast sleeve design, which no longer has a seam at the leading edge (ONE PIECE SLEEVE). This allows for millimetre-precise tuning and a refined shape, resulting in a more sensitive, harmonious reflex. The luff is now slightly shorter, and the sail foil tension has decreased, so the sail builds up a slightly softer profile. This makes it more stable to sail and very balanced in the hands. Whether SUPER_STAR or as STARGAZER EDITION, both score with the convincing combination of performance, handling and control, on/off and the necessary power to have maximum fun even in moderate conditions.

An important note:

DUOTONE is the only sail brand to offer two different wave sails: the SUPER_HERO with a centered-low draft position and the SUPER_STAR with a forward-up draft position. Both sails have their own character, ride differently and convey their own feeling. Therefore, you should not mix sails with different draft positions in your quiver, otherwise you will have to get used to them every time you change sails. By the way, this also applies to mixing DUOTONE sails with sails of other brands.
