The Vortex’s high-aspect shape is similar to our pure big air and hangtime machine, the Edge.

While the Vortex also has a lot of depower, and is awesome for any sort of boosting, the difference is that it has more handling response for megaloop performance – and even double and triple loops if you dare!

Much of that comes from the extra arc shape, which increases the handling response. It also moves the rotation point further into the middle of the kite. The Vortex has a beautiful balance between movement and power, gripping the entire way around its turn.

No slips. No ‘wheel-spinning’ if you like. No momentary loss of control. Power, consistent speed of movement, and control at your fingertips.

The 3-strut design is a great base for agility which we combined with light weight materials and the unbeatable stiffness of the Aluula airframe. The Vortex feels assured in strong and gusty winds, while also injecting a huge amount of performance for those tricky light wind sessions.

We work closely with the expert manufacturing teams at our in-house production facility and can fine tune the designs with the power of our integrated and custom-built OzCAD design system.

From the R&D team at the beach, through our design software to our factory teams, everything we do is in sync, because we own, control and constantly evolve every step of the process.

As a result, every panel cut is millimetre perfect, and every stitch is made with precision, creating a beautifully tight canopy tension that’s consistent across the kite, laid across a powerful air frame that’s light weight, but very strong.
